Jeanne Update

The mass in her uterus is cancerous and they will be taking it out soon we hope. No idea what else they will find, but at least it came at a time when she could get it taken care of.

On another note, something happened to me for the first time in 25 years of working with preschoolers. Someone put a snail in a garlic press and pressed! What a year!

How many more years before retirement?

Just kiddin', just the kind of year I am having this year.

Pray for Aunt Jeanne

It has been an eventful New Year and it is only 26 days into it!

Aunt Jeanne goes into get a biopsy today. Hoping that it just says she has a ucky old mass that needs to be taken out and not a cancerous one!

I hope all of you are OK and dry.

Flooding in Salem

We had some excitement here today in Salem. We woke up this morning and our street was looking pretty flooded. We felt bad for some of our neighbors that bordered on the creek, we could see the water gushing around and through their houses into the street. Ryan got his boots on and took a look to see if we would be able to get the girls to school(we didn't) and to see if anyone needed any help or had any info. As we were eating breakfast we noticed that our backyard was filling up pretty fast. We figured it was just from all the rain. We started to make a trench on the garage side of the house for the water to run down. Picture pouring rain and everyone shoveling....then we noticed the real problem. The creek was overflowing into our neighbors' backyards and into ours. Now we had to make another trench on the other side of the house.....hours of trenching...and freaking out :) Sandbags finally were made available to the neighborhood about 2:00. It was all so surreal. You see those people on the news doing these things but you never think it'll be you. No water got in the house, only under, so we will be pumping that out tomorrow. We are expecting more rain this week but nothing like the 6inches we got in 24 hours. So hopefully we will stay dry. We are all sandbagged and prepared. There is flooding all over our area. School has already been cancelled for tomorrow. It's so cool how people you dont even know all come out to help...whoever needs it and whatever needs to be done. We are all okay and grateful it wasn't any worse. Just wanted to keep you guys updated. I love you guys.

Mandy is hoping to come home today, if she can take the antibiotics by mouth OK. They still don't know exactly what the trouble is or exactly where it is.

I'll keep you posted.

Hey guys, need to let you know that Mandy is in the hospital with a very large abdominal infection. Don't know much more than that right now, but wanted to keep you posted.

I will go see her this afternoon, when she might know more that she knows right now.

Snow!!

Well, it only snowed about an inch... but Cody was still super excited so we bundled up and went outside to let Annie feel it and get hit by snowball from Cody. What was neat though, was while we were out there it started snowing on us. Big, fat snowflakes! So we were all laughing and jumping around. Cody kept saying, "thank you for the snow!" and now as I'm typing this the sun is trying to peek through and melt everything we were just playing in. Oh well... it was fun while it lasted!

The new entry stairs and door.
The front of the house
The new entry door
The steps are wide enough for two, three people to walk up or down.
The old door is now a window.

Here are some exterior pictures of the McNary-Sprague residence. The interior pictures will posted when the works is completed. What a difference, it is so nice. Can't wait until the McNary-Spragues host a party here.
